Lisa believes that it is important to explore thoughts and learn that thoughts cause/impact our feelings and behaviors rather than external things, like people, situations, and events.  The benefit of this process is that we can change the way we think to feel and act better even if the situation does not change. Lisa strives to help clients explore this in a supportive environment where clients feel comfortable and heard. She feels that with support and through a collaborative effort between a therapist and client, success can be achieved.

Lisa is also a certified divorce mediator. Divorce is a difficult, emotional time that requires many plans and decisions to be made.  As an objective 3rd party, a mediator can help to sort through the overwhelming emotions and help both parties to more clearly determine what decisions need to be made to best meet the needs of their children. Divorce is also a very difficult time for the children involved.  The more predictable things are and the more items like visitation schedules are determined, the better children can adjust to the difficult changes divorce brings.
